VNA - Making a Difference in the Community

The VNA, Western Pennsylvania began its long history of serving the community in 1965. The organization was founded by a group of interested citizens, concerned about the welfare of those who needed nursing care outside of the hospital setting. They set out on a mission to establish an organization which would work to keep patients healthy and in their homes for as long as possible.

Visiting nurses have a long history of coming to the aide of patients in the community. Much like other noble professions – we have always delivered regardless of rain or snow, sleet or shine.

The mission continues today as we focus our efforts on optimizing health and independence for those who need our services. We serve patients of all ages, from newborns through senior citizens. Our care reaches the teenager recovering from surgery, as well as the elderly grandfather who is living with congestive heart failure in an assisted living facility. At the VNA, our team provides the right care at the right time, wherever the patient calls home.

Your Donation Counts!

The generous support of our donors has ensured that the VNA, Western Pennsylvania is always there to provide care to those in need. Funds raised by the VNA are used to support programs which help to improve the health of the community and to provide care without regard to a patient's ability to pay. We count on your generosity to help us with our mission.

Every gift, no matter the amount, is important.

You may choose how your gift to the VNA is used. A general gift to the VNA will be placed in the unrestricted fund to be available for all areas of financial need. You may also specify to have your donation used for a specific fund or service, such as VNA Hospice or the Home Telemonitoring Program. Another option is to donated to the Restricted Endowment Fund where the interest from the fund will be used to provide services to those who lack adequate insurance coverage, or, the Designated Endowment Fund in which the principal and interest from the fund may be used to provide services under the direction of the Board of Directors.

You may also designate your gift in memory of another individual or as an honorary gift. We are happy to notify those you select of a contribution of this nature.
