Camp Connections

A  Fun-filled Day Camp for Bereaved Children and Teens and for the Adults Who Love Them Saturday, September 20, 2008; 10 am - 4 pm
at beautiful Camp Lutherlyn in Prospect
                 (8 miles west of Butler)

• Families can attend at least 6 months (and up to 5 years) after a significant loss
• Children and teens (ages 3-17) participate in nature-filled activities
• Adults learn ways to help their children deal with loss throughout their lifetimes
• Our highly qualified staff and volunteers companion groups of campers for the day and help them to "connect" with others who have had similar experiences

"Camp connections provides an emotionally safe and supportive program for children and teens who have experienced the death of a family member. Children and teens are able to meet others who understand what they are going through. They have the opportunity to receive support, express feelings, share memories of those who have died, form new bonds of  friendship and have fun."

Surveys show that 98% of past participants found the program to be helpful.

Registration Fee: $20 per family, scholarships available.
Families throughout Western PA accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. 
Registration begins May 1, 2008 and ends September 1, 2008

Forever Friends

For Students in Grades 9 through 12 who have experienced the death of a close friend in the past year. 

Saturday, September 20, 2008
11 am - 4:00 pm
at Camp Lutherlyn in Prospect, PA

You can expect to:
Meet teens from other area high schools
Share your stories of friendship, loss and healing.
Participate in projects and teen challenge activities.
Create a meaningful Group Remembrance Ceremony.

Forever Friends is being held in conjunction with but separate from VNA's Camp Connections. 

 Registration fee: $10.00 per student includes lunch
