St. John Community Residents Find Joy in Therapy Pig Visit

Residents at St. John Community recently welcomed some very special guests – therapy pigs named Perry and Cedar, who brought plenty of joy and smiles to the residents and employees.

Tree Family Party Piggies, the organization behind the therapy pig visit, is dedicated to “Bringing Piggy Joy and Smiles Where They’re Needed Most.” Their thoughtful initiative aims to uplift spirits and create memorable moments for individuals.

Residents had the pleasure of interacting with the remarkably intelligent pigs, who proved to be attentive and affectionate companions throughout their visit. Residents eagerly engaged with Perry and Cedar, relishing in the opportunity to connect with these adorable animals.

“The residents were all smiles holding the piglet and being able to feed the other one,” explained Michaela Sutherland, the Activity Director at St. John Community. “Truly one of the most unique experiences. The program offered a wealth of valuable information and an amazing hands-on experience.”
