Family Connections: A nature-filled day of fun activities where bereaved families can meet others like them.

This program, held at Camp Lutherlyn in Prospect, PA, is on Saturday, September 26, 2009 from 10 am - 2 pm. Families with children and teens who have experienced the loss of a love one can benefit from spending “family time” in a natural environment for a day of fun. At Family Connections, everyone can participate in fun-filled activities and games, win prizes, make special memorial crafts and connect with other families in similar situations. Forever Friends: Session for high school students who have lost a classmate/close friend

This session, guided by a VNA bereavement specialist, will help teens embrace their circle of friends as they share stories of friendship, loss, & healing, participate in a memory project and create a meaningful Group Remembrance Ceremony. We will individualize the session to meet the needs of your students and school. Call 724 431-3520 for information.

Changing Classrooms: Classroom session grades K-6 after the death of a classmate/teacher

A VNA bereavement specialist can partner with a classroom teacher for 20-30 minute session to give grade school students an opportunity to talk about feelings and commemorate the loss in a supportive group setting.
