Inpatient Hospice
Inpatient Hospice
As a trusted source of hospice care for nearly 30 years, VNA always strives to help patients remain in their own homes for as long as possible. However, many eventually reach a point when their symptoms require a more acute level of care.
Therefore, we are building a new state-of-the-art inpatient hospice facility in Butler where patients can spend their final days in a homelike environment surrounded by loved ones. They will also benefit from continued interaction with the interdisciplinary VNA hospice team that had cared for them at home, including social workers, spiritual counselors and volunteers.
The inpatient hospice center will be designed to maximize the comfort of patients and their families, with features including:
- Tastefully appointed patient suites
- Common living room for relaxation and visiting
- Private room for family meetings
- Shared kitchen for storing and preparing special foods
- Nondenominational chapel
- Elegantly landscaped gardens and walkways
- Special accommodations for pediatric hospice patients
- Ample visitor parking
The center will be staffed 24 hours a day by specially trained hospice nurses and aides, and the patient’s care will be overseen by dedicated hospice physicians.
But we can’t realize this vision without generous support from the community. To this end, we have launched our $2 million Legacy for Life capital campaign with the help of our dedicated volunteers. Your gift to this campaign will do much more than help us to construct a facility – it will allow us to build a legacy of caring, a legacy of comfort, a Legacy for Life.
