According to the U. S. Centers Centers for Disease Control  and Prevention, more than 200,000 Americans are hospitalized each year due to the flu and flu-related health complications such as pneumonia, encephalitis, bronchitis and sinus or ear infections. Therefore, the CDC strongly recommends annual flu vaccinations for anyone who wants to reduce their changes of getting the flu, but especially for individuals over the age of 50 and their caregivers who are particularly susceptible to the virus.

Flu shots are available to all members of the community on a walk-in basis at the VNA office on Hindman Road in Butler from 9:00 a.m. to Noon and 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. VNA will also hold flu clnics at locations throughout the community and will administer shots upon request to employees of area businesses in order to help reduce the spreak of the virus.
