St. John Specialty Care Center Receives Five-Star Rating
St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars has been awarded a five-star rating - the highest rating achievable by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in their most recent survey.
The ratings, given to all nursing homes in the United States that participate in Medicare or Medicaid, are calculated based on inspection results from the last three years, quality measures and staffing.
"We are very proud to have achived this honor," said Karen Russell, executive director of St. John Specialty Care Center. "Our staff works tirelessly to maintain the highest standards and give our residents the best care possible."
In addition to the five-star overall quality rating, St. John also received five stars for its quality measures and staffing.
The results from nursing homes across the country are posted to the Nursing Home Compare website to provide residents and their families an easy-to-understand, yet comprehensive, summary of each facility. This enables them to make clear distinctions between high- and low-performing nursing homes.
"At St. John, we are committed to helping our residents live their most Abundant Life® - everyone from the nursing staff, dining services, therapists, activities and all the support staff. I couldn't be more thankful for them. Because of their efforts, we are able to bring the highest quality of care to our residents," Russell said.
St. John Specialty Care Center is part of the Lutheran SeniorLife family of senior care communities. They offer personal care, skilled nursing and rehabilitation services. Also on the St. John Campus are RoseCrest, which offers assisted living with memory support services, and Overbrook Pointe, an independent living apartment building.
