For some older adults, keeping track of multiple prescriptions presents a daily challenge. There may be one set of pills to be taken in the morning, another in the afternoon and yet another at night.

To address these challenges, VNA offers two innovative technological solutions for medication management that make it easier for these individuals to follow their prescribed course of treatment even in the absence of a caregiver.

MedSmart

MedSmart makes managing medications easy. It organizes, reminds and dispenses. Load the correct pills into the tray based upon the number of doses per day. Program the clock and alarm times. MedSmart will beep, flash and rotate when it's time to take medication. Just flip the unit over to remove the correct pills. All other doses remain safe and secure.

With MedSmart's innovative event reporting notification option, family caregivers and healthcare professionals can be alerted via text message, e-mail or voice when doses are missed, refills are needed or if the dispenser experiences a mechanical issue.

MedSmart fees include a one time installation fee and a monthly fee. Additional fees apply for the notification option and if the unit is pre-filled by VNA.

MedReady

MedReady is a simple dispensing unit where you load your medications, set the clock, and program the alarm. When it's time to take your medications, the alarm will sound and the dose will rotate into position for you to self-administer.

This unit, about the size of a dinner plate, will hold up to 28 doses of medication. MedReady fees include a one time installation fee and a monthly fee. We will instruct you or a caregiver how to pre-fill the MedReady unit. Additional fees apply if the unit is pre-filled by VNA.
